The Role:
Supply Desk is excited to partner with a well-regarded school in the Aylesbury area, celebrated for its friendly and inclusive environment. They are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about food preparation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in a busy kitchen setting while contributing to the vibrant life of a school.
Key Responsibilities:
To clean pots and plates.
Clean floors.
Prep vegetables.
Bake cakes (training provided).
Make toast and sandwiches if required.
Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring quality and consistency.
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Support the kitchen team in managing stock, including storing deliveries appropriately.
Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly after use.
To contribute as a member of a team to the ethos and environment of the school.
To adhere to the need for confidentiality at all times.
To perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to meet daily requirements and deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have/Be:
Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential.
A strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Food Hygiene Certificate is a plus).
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the kitchen.
Commitment to consistent, fixed working days (full-time or part-time).
