Contract role - Outside IR35Competitive hourly rateHybrid working - 3 days in office / 2 days from home The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Principal Design Engineer to be based out of South West London.Job Overview:This role is working for a leading EPC company working on a subsea pipeline project for a 12+ month project.Skills Required: Degree qualified in civil, structural or mechanical discipline. Will be involved primarily in detailed FE analysis but also in general subsea pipeline and spools design activities, such as, wall thickness, stability, bottom roughness and freespan. A comprehensive understanding of structural analysis, including, statics, dynamics and fatigue as well as installation and constructability aspects of pipeline systems. Should have extensive experience in Subsea engineering with knowledge of typical subsea software toolsWhat do you need to succeed?Qualifications and Software: Degree qualified in civil, structural or mechanical discipline FEA software Orcaflex, ANSYS, ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D solid elements) and hand calculations. Knowledge of DNV SESAM, Sage Profile 2D and AutoPIPE will be a benefit.
