PURPOSE OF JOB AND PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the job is to carry out the duties of a Project/Architectural Technician as part of a team under the supervision of the Team Leader responsible for delivery of specific areas of work and also to develop projects from planning and working drawing stage through to completion. To work with clients, consultants and contractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
andbull; Client liaison and communication
andbull; Co-ordination with the design team
andbull; Design development and investigation of production specification
andbull; Creates 3D model and develop 2D drawings and/or detail drawings from 3D model or sketches
andbull; Attend project meetings as required
andbull; Ensure compliance with 3D modelling and 2D drafting standards and best practices
andbull; Interpretation of brief
andbull; Concept development
andbull; Site assessment
andbull; Feasibility preparation
andbull; Report compilation
andbull; Liaison with other consultants and contractors
andbull; Develop an understanding for building legislation
andbull; Develop an understanding for Health and Safety and CDM regulations
andbull; Production of planning, building regulations, tender and contract drawings
andbull; Delivering projects to an agreed programme and budget
andbull; Ensure that office procedures are implemented
andbull; Support members of the design team and work collaboratively with the wider office

BIM SPECIFIC RESPONCIBILITIES
andbull; Work with your BIM manager for strategy on any given project
andbull; Create Archicad objects in response to project need and in consultation with the BIM Team
andbull; Attend clash detection meetings as required
andbull; Help resolve BIM design issues
andbull; Communicate with subcontractors to receive, coordinate and update project electronic models
andbull; Support project standards coordination with internal and external project teams

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
andbull; Good knowledge of technical and construction information of relevant building types.
andbull; Computer literacy: email, word processing, spreadsheet and Archicad
andbull; Ability to programme work for self
andbull; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
andbull; Highly organised and proactive ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
andbull; Good knowledge of or willingness to learn to apply statutory legislation and procedures
andbull; Sufficient competence to fulfil the duties of a Designer under the CDM regulations
andbull; Holding a current driving licence is a requirement of the post
