Role: SEN Teacher

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join one of the specialist SEN schools we work with. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs. As a SEN Teacher, you will work collaboratively with other educators, support staff, and parents to provide personalised and effective learning experiences for students with diverse abilities. Once you become part of the team; Tea or coffee and biscuits become your best friend in the staff room as you formulate bonds with your new colleagues. As we are partnered with the Council of Buckinghamshire we can guarantee that these biscuits, tea and coffee are provided by the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student, ensuring that educational goals are achievable and measurable
- Create and deliver lessons using a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities within the classroom
- Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment
- Regularly assess and monitor the progress of students, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to address individual needs
- Maintain open and transparent communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies for continued support at home
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes understanding, acceptance, and positive social interactions among students with and without special needs
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in special education, attending relevant workshops and conferences to enhance professional knowledge and skills
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and respectful classroom environment, providing support to students with challenging behaviours
Requirements:
- Bachelor''s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master''s degree preferred)
- Teaching certification in Special Education
- Proven experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and developmental disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
