Due to expansion a position has opened up for an experienced Fire Safety Engineer for the following areas of London, Rainham, Bicester and Leeds. If your looking for a fast paced, vibrant and fast growing and established building control company to work with. This could be the role for you!

Job Purpose:

To provide advice to clients on all matters relating to fire safety design and management to agreed targets of quality, safety, cost and time.

Principal Accountabilities:

Review plans for compliance with all Statutory Fire Safety Requirements

Produce reports detailing necessary changes to proposals

Provide expert advice to building design teams at multi disciplinary meetings

Liaise with Fire Authorities and Building Control Bodies

Carry out physical inspections of premises to advise on all matters relating to statutory compliance

Guide organisations through the necessary statutory requirements to ensure compliance

To comply with those functions outlined in the Quality Manual as appropriate

Ensure records and filing are maintained to ensure the company’s Quality Procedures, service levels and contractual requirements are being met

To communicate effectively (verbally, writing, electronically) to meet the job purpose

Maintain a positive team environment to promote the overall interests of the company without regard to sectional or divisional boundaries

To ensure that when entering site all Health & Safety regulations are strictly complied with and that all protective/safety equipment is worn

To operate within The company's terms & conditions, policies and quality assurance system

To undertake other duties, within the competence of the post holder, as may be reasonably required from time to time.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Working knowledge and understanding of:

BS5839 - Fire detection and alarm systems

BS5588 - Fire precautions in the design, construction and use of buildings

Regulation Return (Fire Safety) Order 2005

Approved Document B of the Building Regulations

Qualifications:

Graduate of the Institution of Fire Engineers

Current driving license with no more than 6 penalty points

Skills:

Ability to produce letters and reports using Windows applications, Word, Outlook, etc

Good communication skills

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment (i.e. with engineers, quantity surveyors, H&S consultants)

Good problem solving abilities

Multi-tasking team player.
